The PenFed Foundation is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to empower military service members, veterans, and their communities with the skills and resources to realize their full potential. Since 2001, the PenFed Foundation has provided more than $50 million in financial support, impacting more than 140,000 military families.

PenFed Credit Union generously underwrites the Foundation’s operational costs, meaning more than 95% of each donation we receive goes directly to fund our programs. But we still need your support to continue providing opportunities to our servicemen and women. Your contributions change lives.

How We Help

Military Heroes Program

When there is a gap, the PenFed Foundation steps in to make sure the individual and collective needs of our service members and their families are being met. They do this by forming partnerships with non-profit organizations working within military communities and providing them with the financial assistance needed to conduct their important work.

Afghan Rescue and Resettlement Program (ARRP)

In response to the 2021 crisis in Afghanistan, the PenFed Foundation opened the Afghan Rescue and Resettlement Program (ARRP) to assist refugees who are proven to have assisted our nation’s veterans or supported our country’s values in exemplary ways. The program resettles Afghan Female Tactical Platoon soldiers who worked alongside U.S. Army women soldiers through the Army’s Cultural Support Team.
